01 Overview
LiderA is a sustainability assessment and certification system focused on promoting environmental responsibility across the full lifecycle of construction projects — from initial concept through to operation and rehabilitation.
This project involved a complete redesign of the website and platform, transforming an outdated and limited digital presence into a modern, accessible and scalable experience, both for public users exploring the system and for registered members managing certification processes.
02 The Challenge
The previous website no longer met the needs of the system or its users. The design felt dated and the usability suffered, while the backend structure made content updates unnecessarily difficult. More critically, the platform struggled to attract and retain members, and didn't provide an optimised experience for either educational browsing or functional certification workflows.

03 The Approach
Full Structural Redesign
The project started from scratch in terms of structure and experience. Existing content was reviewed and reorganised, key information hierarchies were redefined, and a clearer distinction was created between informational content, system explanation and user actions such as registration, login and certification. The result is a platform with a clear and logical architecture, supporting different user needs and journeys.
Content Simplification & Organisation
Given the academic and technical nature of the content, long-form information was broken into structured and readable sections. Clear headings and hierarchy improved comprehension, and content was adapted to support both learning and action. The goal was to maintain depth while improving clarity, accessibility and engagement.
UX & Wireframing
Wireframes were developed to balance complexity with usability. Key considerations included supporting different user journeys — from exploration to certification — designing a clear path to the private login area, and ensuring consistency across informational and functional pages.
UI Design & Visual Direction
The visual direction reflects the academic and environmental nature of the project. White serves as the dominant colour ensuring readability, while blue tones provide highlights and key action points. Minimalist and structured layouts focus on clarity over decoration, resulting in an interface that feels clean, credible and purpose-driven.
Private Area & Platform Integration
A key component of the project was integrating a private user area including a login system for registered users, access to project submission and support for evaluation and certification processes. The platform now supports both public educational content and functional workflows for sustainability professionals.
04 Accessibility & Usability
Accessibility and usability were core to the redesign from the earliest stages. High readability was maintained across long-form content, navigation structures were designed to be clear and logical, and consistent UI patterns reduced cognitive load despite the complex subject matter. The experience is designed to be inclusive, intuitive and efficient.

05 Technology
The platform was built in WordPress with Elementor, with UI design work done in Adobe XD. This stack allows for flexible content management, scalable growth of the platform, and integration of both public content areas and private certification workflows.
